Relive fascinating tales of history and bring them bang up to date!
Let's celebrate London's culture, vibe and history together! Face to face history talks are booking into 2027 with returning clients including U3A, Probus and WI. The talk about artist William Hogarth explores what his art tells us about his life and times in Georgian London. His paintings and prints immerse us in the chaotic underbelly of 18C Covent Garden.
New in 2024 talk, the "I Spy London" explores the idea that "truth is stranger than fiction" with tales of "derring do" during WWII involving dangerous secrets, doublecross and endless games of risk. Authors Ian Fleming and John le Carre use the Cold War as a background for their novels, whilst modern spy novels tap into the ever-evolving underworld of espionage where enemy states and terrorism are major threats to our democracy.
I also offer select bespoke private group walking tours twinned with the history lectures, ranging from the tales behind the gin craze to the two-thousand year old story of London through the ebb and flow of Father Thames.
Breaking News....An "I Spy London" and "Hogarthian" walking tours will will be on offer in 2026!
